I love going back through my old prayer journals from high school and college. When I went to bed at night, I’d take my spiral bound journal and write down my prayers. Looking back, some of my “problems” seem so small now, but it’s truly inspiring to realize how many of those written-down prayers have been answered. Maybe writing down your prayers, or praying in general, just isn’t easy for you. I get it. When I try to pray without writing in my journal (i.e. - just praying silently ... View the Post
Living out of a place of rest (instead of hustle)
“Many of us, myself, included, considered our souls necessary collateral damage to get done the things we felt we simply had to get get done - because of other people's expectations, because we want to be know as highly capable, because we're trying to outrun an inner emptiness. And for a while we don't even realize the compromise we've made. We're on autopilot, chugging through the day on fear and caffeine, checking things off the list, falling into bed without even a real thought or feeling or ... View the Post
Detox: Mental Edition | Slowing Down With Purpose
I've avoided writing this post because it's about something that's still a work in progress. Typically, I only like to share things after I've conquered them, because isn't that just what feels a little bit more safe? It doesn't always feel good to admit that you're haven't hit the mark that you've been aiming for... That you're still not there yet. But generally, that's the place we exist in. There is always something that we are working on or working towards. In this season, I've had to really ... View the Post
God’s Love in the Wilderness
Sometimes during worship at church, I just spend some time looking around at people. I watch the stories on people's faces as they sing, and it ministers to me. This last Sunday, the worship team was singing a song about God's love. Hands began to rise towards the ceiling as the song developed. I contemplated the words of the song, considering God's great love. I knew I felt it– but I just wondered if there was anyone in the room that was struggling to believe it. I wondered if there was a ... View the Post
Color-Coordinating and Lessons on Faith
It's day one back to work for me. Because I am an entrepreneur, I make my own schedule, answer my own emails, find my own clients, and am in charge of well, everything. Because of this, I am a huge planner. I'm talking color-coordinating blocks of time down to the minute with a backup notebook planner in case Google Calendar ever crashes. To start my new work year off right, I decided to give my workspace some extra good vibes and lit some candles and turned on worship music. My perfect planning ... View the Post
// 2017 //
I can't believe 2016 is coming to an end. It feels like I was just sitting in our duplex at the kitchen on a sleepy January morning table trying to pick my word for the year, and now mulling over just how much has happened since then kind of blows my mind. This was a big year. If I may be so bold, it's a year I'm really proud of. If you would have told me that within 365 I would graduate college (finally), launch into my photography business full time, book 12 beautiful weddings with the ... View the Post
